Swan Valley Farm B&B is a welcoming, peaceful farmstay near Perth, and in the heart of the Upper Swan tourist area. The nearest towns being Upper Swan itself about two miles to the east and Belhus about a mile to the south.
They have a range of comfortable rooms and suites, all with flat screen TV, WiFi and private bathroom, and there’s plenty of space to relax around the farmhouse; in the shared kitchen and lounge and of course in the two and a half acres of gardens and farm outside, where you’ll find a barbecue space and some farm animals.
You’ll find the owners very friendly and they cook a great breakfast in the morning. Guests are also welcome to use the kitchen themselves for cooking throughout the rest of the day.
They keep sheep, horses and alpacas on the farm as well as pet rabbits and a friendly farm dog, and kids (and adults!) are very welcome to pet and help feed the animals.
For those not familiar with the Swan Valley there is plenty to see and do there. You’ll find the nearby Whiteman Park a great day out, with lots of hiking and biking trails, a motor museum, steam trains, a birds of prey exhibit and children’s playgrounds. And the adjoining Caversham Wildlife Park has a range of exotic wildlife to be seen.
You’ll also find many arts and crafts exhibits around, food factories, especially the two main chocolate factories; Whistler’s and the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, both of which do entertaining tours, and lots of high quality restaurants and organic markets. There are also of course the famous Swan Valley wineries plus quite a few local breweries too, most of which also offer tours.
Perth International Airport is only about 15 miles away and the farm stay owners can arrange a pick up and drop off for a reasonable surcharge, just let them know before arrival.
