In the north western Lim Chu Kang district of Singapore, close to Kranji Marshes and the Kranji Sanctuary Golf Course, this farmstay has a range of modern, well equipped, villa type accommodation surrounded by lush green vegetation. THE ACCOMMODATION: Their villas range from standard to the executive, all of which come with comfortable beds, en suite bathrooms, flat screen TVs and private terraces. In the executive suite you’ll also find a lounge area as well as a nice private jacuzzi and steam room, while their family villas have the added benefit of having their own kitchenette and a bit more space. THE FARM: It has a prawning pool on site, which you welcome to can take a look at, and it rents out patches of land to urban farmers to grow a variety of their own fruit, vegetables and herbs. Urban farming is quite popular around Kranji and the farmstay organizes related events such as regular farmers markets where you can buy locally grown, mainly organic, produce to take home. THE LOCATION: The farmstay is in Lim Chu Kang which is a quiet corner of Singapore tucked away between the border with Malaysia and the Kranji reservoir, and it has something of a rural atmosphere that is famously hard to find in other parts of the country. You can take a nice walk or cycle around the nearby Kranji Marshes National Park and the surrounding shoreline for example, while Singapore Zoo and its famous night safari is another great attraction a little further away, back towards the city. Punggol Ranch is a unique farm stay experience near the northern tip of Singapore, with a range of B&B accommodation on its horse ranch with stables. THE ACCOMMODATION: Their rooms are comfortable and clean and in keeping with the theme are decorated in a kind of traditional western ranch style. As well as providing useful horse riding lessons, for both beginners and advanced, you can also go out on guided horse riding trails around the ranch. THE LOCATION: The surrounding area is among Singapore’s most peaceful and you can hire bikes at the ranch for exploring the nearby sea shore, or go fishing out around Coney Island and the Punggol Waterway.
