- In the hills just to the west of Florence lies Villa Guarnaschelli, an ideal place for a first taste of a real Tuscan agriturismo, mere kilometers from the city centre. The place goes back to the 1600s and is still a working farm, with honey and extra virgin olive oil being the main produces under their own Il Sogno label. Free tours of the farm and the production facilities are part of the experience, and guests can feel free to wander the large estate at their leisure. There is a swimming pool at Villa Guarnaschelli and one other particularly nice feature is their private, consecrated chapel. It dates back to the very beginnings of the estate and is beautifully frescoed. Animals that call Villa Guarnaschelli home include sheep, ponies, hens, rabbits and bees. THE ACCOMMODATION: All accommodation is B&B and room choices here run from singles to quadruple family rooms. All of them are B&B and all are charmingly old style farmhouse rooms. There is nothing fancy, or even overtly modern about them bar the standards: air-con, satellite TV and WiFi. Check out all the room details here at Booking.com. THE LOCATION: Villa Guarnaschelli lies just to the west of Florence, about 12km from downtown. And its proximity to the A1 motorway means it can be a stopping off point for places like Volterra, San Gimignano, Arezzo, Pisa, Livorno and the Tuscan coast. There is a pool, which we did not use. The breakfast was excellent and well-stocked, in spite of the fact that there were many people there. We bought a bottle of wine from their farm to drink by the pool and it was excellent…..” “We enjoy the place, exactly as described on booking profile. Amazing Tuscan atmosphere with a pool surrounded by olive trees, generous space for your privacy. I recommend it for the families with kids for the contact with animals. Also, you can be at Piazzale Michelangelo with the amazing view of READ MORE
