Right on the Seneca/Finger Lakes Wine Trail in New York State and with its own winery and vineyards, the self catering Farmhouse at Fulkerson Winery is very much a place for wine lovers. The winery itself has long been a highlight of local wine tourism with over 25 varieties of of wine made on site.
They do vineyard tours, tasting sessions, home made wine & beer making classes, and they also have a seasonal u-pick farm, where visitors can load up on their various fruits and vegetables; grapes obviously, but also things like blueberries, peaches, apples and asparagus for example. There is a well stocked shop on site too where you can buy their wine & grape juice plus things like home brewing kits and various other bits and pieces.
The farmhouse has nice views over Seneca Lake and though over 150 years old, the interiors are modern, clean and comfortable, with four double bedrooms and a double sofa bed in the living room to sleep up to ten people in total. It also has a huge amount of space, all the bedrooms are large and there is also a large lounge, an equally large, well equipped, open plan kitchen, and a separate dining room too.
There are three bathrooms and the whole house is pretty well equipped as a home away from home, with WiFi, cable TV and various board games available. There’s plenty of space outside too with a front porch and seating, plus a barbecue for you to use, and the house is surrounded by peaceful trees and well tended lawns.
